Abstract of Presentation From Providing Lunch For Dumpsite Kids To A Community Empowered Sherlyn thought her life was figured out till she visited to a dumpsite in Manila 15 years ago. The trip changed her life. She started acts29 (a mission group) with other youths and went back to the dumpsite with only one plan - to provide lunch for the kids there. Meanwhile she became a teacher and advocated for education and children's rights.15 years on, acts29 has a volunteer programme, full-timers on board, a birth certificate project, Dream Beyond the Dumpsite Empowerment Program, a scholarship program and a formation house for kids. Sherlyn has worked with schools and groups on mission projects and has spoken on Marginalization in various countries.
