National Youth Council (NYC) & International Volunteerism Association (IVA) MOU Signing

The National Youth Council (NYC) and the International Volunteerism Association (IVA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 13 May 2009 to strengthen the capability and capacity of the international volunteerism (IV) sector in Singapore. This is a testament to the commitment
between the government and industry partners in developing a strong IV sector together.

Under this MOU, NYC and IVA will collaborate to synergise IV strategies, share best practices and develop resources that will aid youths and organisations in planning and implementing community service-learning projects overseas, under the auspices of the Youth Expedition Project (YEP).

Over 40 organisations and potential new IV sector entrants, which are interested to increase their YEP sending capacity or enhance the capabilities of their youths and leaders in implementing community service-learning projects overseas, may leverage on the resources developed and benefit from this partnership.
